they were challenging the entire foundation on which the world economy was based. the fundamental difference in principle of the international commerce was that the big corporations and industrialized countries. to sell the product in the country's far away and they have to be able to do it on the terms that they set up. if the small countries have the power to place whatever restrictions they want on the foreign corporations, the whole edifice of the entrepreneurial global capitalism begins to crumble.
